The Cincinnati Bengals have reportedly signed undrafted quarterback Jake Dolegala to a post-draft contract, adding him to the roster, according to Jason Wolf of the Buffalo News.
No surprise there, as Dolegala was only one of two quarterbacks the Bengals had to Paul Brown Stadium on official visits.
The other was Ryan Finley — the guy they traded up for on Day 3.
Dolegala hails from Connecticut State and threw for 48 touchdowns over four years at the FCS level. He flew massively under the radar because an untimely injury hurt his recruiting process. He remained at the collegiate level but would have surely had more attention on his draft status if he had been recruited by a bigger school.
While he isn’t a big-name prospect, Dolegala has some upside physically and with his arm strength, the Bengals were clearly interested in him, which means he could have a shot at as serious summer competition with the likes of Jeff Driskel.
