The Denver Broncos hosted East Carolina defensive back Ja’Quan McMillian on a pre-draft visit Monday, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.
McMillian (5-10, 183 pounds) played primarily as an outside cornerback at ECU, but he projects as a slot cornerback in the NFL, perhaps making him nickelback prospect for the Broncos.
McMillian was a playmaker for the Pirates, totaling 127 tackles (including five tackles for losses), 28 pass breakups, 12 interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one defensive touchdown in three seasons (33 games).
McMillian is a late-round prospect who might be an undrafted free agent target for the Broncos. Denver could use more depth at cornerback and McMillian would be a candidate to contribute on special teams right away.
If the Broncos draft McMillian, it would likely be in the seventh and final round. Denver owns pick No. 232 in the seventh round at the moment, but the Broncos will likely make several trades during the draft.
