By now, Cincinnati Bengals fans know all about what the team did with its final 53-man roster and practice squad before the season opener.
But what about former Bengals?
Some notable former Bengals had some interesting things happen with other teams, so let’s take a quick look at some of those.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins (97) pushes off on guard Michael Jordan (60) during training camp at the Paul Brown Stadium practice field in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020.

After missing the cut with the Bengals despite entering training camp as the first guard on the depth chart, Jordan got claimed on waivers by the Carolina Panthers. He’ll get to attempt a career turnaround there by competing for a starting role.
Cincinnati Bengals kicker Austin Seibert (3) kicks off during a mini camp practice inside of Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

After losing the roster battle to rookie Evan McPherson, Seibert got claimed on waivers by the Detroit Lions. Those Lions had cut both kickers while reaching the 53-player mark, so he’ll have the job.

The veteran safety signed with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason but failed to make the final roster at cutdowns. He’s 30 and should latch on somewhere, though.

Hunt was another cut in Arizona alongside Williams. He had three solid years in Indianapolis from 2017-1029 before splitting time last year between New Orleans and a return to Cincinnati, then signed with Arizona this summer.

Bullock was one of two kickers, the other Zane Gonzalez, cut by Detroit before the team made a move to claim Seibert on waivers.

The former Bengals first-round pick played eight games in Atlanta last year and signed with Arizona this offseason. But as the Cardinals searched for ways to reach 53, they placed Dennard on injured reserve.
Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Bobby Hart (68) cools off between drills during a training camp practice at the Paul Brown Stadium practice field in downtown Cincinnati on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020.

Hart found work with the Buffalo Bills about a week after the Bengals cut him back in March. But a rough preseason translated to those Bills cutting him loose during final cuts.

The ninth pick in the 2017 draft wasn’t brought back by the Bengals this offseason and ended up making the final 53 with the New York Giants. But a hamstring injury prevented him from playing much in camp and the preseason, so he’ll start the year on injured reserve.

The Bengals paid some good money to secure Phillips as an undrafted free agent this summer. But the Houston Texans lured him to town with a practice squad spot after final cuts.

A popular undrafted free agent who actually got starter reps, Willis joined the Denver Broncos in May but was one of the team’s cuts at the end of the month.

We’re mostly including this one for fun. Takk was a member of the Bengals for about a week last year after they claimed him on the waiver wire. He failed a physical, reverted to the wire, got claimed by San Francisco, then failed his physical there, too. Then he went to Las Vegas and went on injured reserve. Fast forward to this summer, he signed with the Cleveland Browns and made the final roster.
