Steelers free agency: Offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer signed deal – Steelers Wire

A very important piece of the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line depth is locked in for another season.
Offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer signed his one-year exclusive rights tender on Tuesday, the team announced.
The Steelers signed Hassenauer to their practice squad in 2019 and has been a mainstay in Pittsburgh since. Per Pro Football Reference, he’s played in 28 games over two seasons. Out of seven starts, three came as a late-season replacement for the struggling Kendrick Green in 2021.
Hassenauer entered the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons who signed him as an undrafted college free agent in 2018.
Though Hassenauer has primarily been a solid depth piece, he’s expected to compete with Mason Cole for the starting position at center in training camp.
